Homonyms
Homonyms are words that have the same spelling or pronunciation but different meanings. They can be categorized into two main types:
- Homophones โ Words that sound the same but have different meanings and spellings (e.g., pair and pear).
- Homographs โ Words that are spelled the same but have different meanings and sometimes different pronunciations (e.g., lead [to guide] and lead [a type of metal]).
Homonyms can make language fun and sometimes tricky, especially in reading and writing. Understanding them helps improve vocabulary and comprehension skills!
